For the second year in a row, HRMG and LionSoft participated in the Education Service Center, Region 2’s teacher externship program. This year’s externship was funded by a partnership with the University of Texas and the Texas Education Agency. The program took place over the course of two weeks from July 16 to July 27 and was facilitated by a total of 5 industry partners, including TT Electronics, Flatiron Dragados, The Texas General Land Office, LionSoft and HRMG.
This year’s externship focus was less on our process as companies and more on the needs of our industry’s workforce for market growth. We explained the necessary skillsets and obstacles faced during our efforts hiring locally and guided the teachers on how to best guide an interested student toward ideal development.
